Emily ClarkeMorocco Travel SpecialistMorocco is like another World, and just 3 ½ hours from London! The bustling souqs and the famous Djemaa El Fna of Marrakech are incredible; full of heady aromas, shops and stalls, smoking barbeques and rooftop cafes, snake charmers, story tellers, acrobats and herbalists. But, Marrakech is only a tiny part of what Morocco has to offer. Escape from it all on a trek through the dramatic snow capped High Atlas or challenge yourself to climb Toubkal, Morocco’s highest peak. One of the highlights of my most recent trip to Morocco was experiencing genuine hospitality (and delicious home-cooked food) at a Berber homestay whilst trekking through tiny villages and forests. From the dusty kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou and the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, the Imperial Cities of Fes and Meknes and faded glamour of Casablanca to the coastline of Essaouira and Agadir, Morocco really does have something for everyone! |
Sophia FadilMorocco Travel SpecialistMy dad is Moroccan so I have been going there ever since I was young. It’s such a magical, colourful country with so much to see and do! I love Marrakesh for the lively souks and the Djemaa El Fna where you will see everything from snake charmers to fire jugglers. At night the food stalls come out and you have the choice of so many delicious types of cuisine. The Sahara desert is something I would definitely recommend too! There is nothing more captivating than the endless rolling dunes of the deserts of Morocco with caravans of camels slowly moving across the sand. I have also spent a lot of time lazing around at outdoor cafes in the lovely authentic town of Essaouira and the beach there is hard to beat! |

Haydn WrathManaging DirectorMorocco Travel Plan is run by Haydn Wrath.I left the University of East Anglia in 1984 and escaped what seemed a very grim England by spending the rest of the 1980s travelling independently and working myself round the world. During this time I put in some usual stints as an English teacher in Tokyo, a landscape gardener in Sydney and a tarmac layer's assistant in Alaska. In 1990, I joined Bridge the World Travel Centre in London as manager of the World-wide department, where I was able to put my degree in Politics and Philosophy to good use. I fulfilled my ambition to set up a specialist travel company in 2001 when I founded Travel Nation, and later in 2007 set up Rickshaw Travel and Morocco Travel Plan. I have travelled independently to Morocco a few times, and am always utterly amazed by the people and the atmosphere there. Also of course, in common with so many other visitors, when I'm in Morocco, I am in food paradise...especially that tagines.... |
