Children's charity project in Morocco Morocco Travel Plan supports the organisation ATEIM in the small town of Berkane in the north east of Morocco. ATEIM offers day care to children with learning disabilities. The project is unique in the area since it was established in 1997.ATEIM is working hard to build a new day care centre for the children, but additional funding is still needed for special learning materials and educational toys. |
ATEIMATEIM currently cannot meet the regional demand for specialised day care, which means there’s a long waiting list. At present ATEIM cares for 25 children with daily activities and medical care. They also organise day trips for the children and take part in sports activities across the country with different organisations for the disabled.International development organisation CORDAID has provided funding for the construction of a new centre, the Berkane municipality has donated the land and with the available means, building works are now underway. |
