Day 1: Arrival MarrakeshOn arrival in Marrakesh, you’ll be met by our driver and transferred directly to your hotel, located just off the famous Djemaa el Fna square. The hotel itself is quite simple, but it's central location offers the perfect base to explore the city. There is of course the option to upgrade to one of our special stay riads if you would prefer something a bit more stylish, just let us know.Once you’ve settled into your hotel and freshened up, it’s time to explore. Marrakesh has surprisingly few tourist attractions - Its main appeal is the atmosphere. The Djemaa el Fna and the surrounding souks form the beating heart of the city. During the day the area is quiet except for the odd storyteller, snake charmer or group of musicians. The evening is another story. Head to one of the many food stalls, take you pick from a huge array of different cuisine and watch the world go by. |

Day 2: Marrakesh - Souk tour and cookery workshopThe next morning, you'll be picked up around 11am for your cookery tour. Your host will show you the souks and alleys of Marrakesh through a locals eyes. When you’ve filled your bags with ingredients it’s time to roll up your sleeves for your Moroccan cooking workshop, where you'll be taught how to prepare a traditional tajine, proper couscous and Moroccan salads. You’ll then sit down to feast on your first home-made Moroccan dinner. Please note, this cookery course is very popular and takes only a few guests, so can sell out quickly. We are also unable to run this tour during Ramadan. If this is the case, we will offer alternatives for you. This tour is of course completely optional, so if you would prefer your time free to explore Marrakesh at your own pace then just let us know. |
Day 3: End of Marrakesh tripThis Marrakesh trip should give you enough time to really experience the atmosphere of Marrakesh, but if you want to stay a little longer, we can always extend your time with one or more extra days. After you've seen the sights of Marrkech, you can head to the desert dunes South of Zagora with our Morocco desert tour. On the way you’ll pass through the fertile Draa Valley and magical kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou. A great follow up to the bustle of the city souks! If you have more time, then another option is our Atlas Mountains tour, which also takes you to Ait Benhaddou but adds in an additional visit to the spectacular Dades Valley and Todra Gorge. You can then add on our Morocco Camel Trek to Erg Chebbi (Merzouga). This is also a great choice if you plan to finish your journey with a visit to the Imperial cities of Fes, Meknes and Rabat.
