Day 1: Arrival AgadirAgadir beach is a wonderful place to relax at the end of your Morocco itinerary. You’ll be staying in a small, authentic hotel located in a small side street on the boulevard. You’ll be right in the middle of it all, but without the noise. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away.Directly on Agadir beach, you’ll find an endless chain of all-inclusive hotels. Not really our cup of tea, which is why we’ve chosen this small, charming affordable hotel but if you’d prefer to be right on the beach then no problem. We’ve listed the best option at the bottom of this page. It’s a little more expensive, but it’s worth splashing out on if you’re looking for something more special right on Agadir beach. |

Once you’ve checked in, you can take a stroll along the boulevard or head straight to the beach. Most of the larger hotels in Agadir have a private beach, but there’s a wide stretch of sand between the hotel beaches and the sea. Just enjoy the next two days relaxing and chilling out on Agadir beach in Morocco - a lovely place to unwind after an active trip. In the evening, the boulevard is a great place to grab a bite to eat and watch the locals on their daily evening promenade. |
Day 2: AgadirAgadir doesn’t really have any major sights, but the covered souks at the edge of the town centre are great to wander around for a couple of hours. The easiest way to get there is by petit taxi (about £1). The souks sell everything under the sun. Colourful fruit and vegetables are piled high like the pyramids of sweet smelling herbs and spices that make your mouth water as you walk by.Just outside the city you'll find the souk Al Had (closed Mondays, main market day on Sundays). It’s more touristy and you’ll generally find more expensive items here. The real souk is more fun but if you’re on the hunt for souvenirs, the souks Al Had may be worth a visit. There’s also a miniature train every half hour for a tour through the town and Agadir beach. It’s great for kids, and a fun way to see the town. |

In the north of Agadir at the furthest point of the beach you’ll see a hilly plateau with white Arabic inscription. On top of the hill is the old kasbah and from the summit you’ll get some lovely views of the city, Agadir beach and harbour and beyond. It’s about 5 miles on foot, but a petit taxi will cost you around £1.50. Once you’ve walked back down to the bottom of the hill, you can cross the road and take a look at the harbour with the little wooden boats bobbing in the water. In the afternoon you can spend a couple more hours chilling on the beach, or people-watching on the boulevard. For dinner you’ll be spoilt for choice. The restaurants offer everything from Italian to Chinese and - of course - traditional Moroccan. For good, authentic Moroccan food, head to the Talborjt district behind the Boulevard Hassan II. We had a great meal at restaurant Caverna, or you could try the touristy but very charming Daffy. Slightly more upmarket but delicious is Le Miramar, the restaurant at the Hotel Miramar on Boulevard Mohammed V, or the Yacht Club Restaurant du Port in the harbour. |
Day 3: Agadir - End of moduleMost people spend a day or two on Agadir beach, but if you'd like to hang around a bit longer we can always book an extra night for you. Just let us know and we'll include it in your trip. If Agadir beach isn't the final stop on your Morocco trip, try our Essaouira sea breeze, meet Berbers in the hidden palm valleys, or explore Marrakech with our Couscous in the souks tour.Click here for a map of Morocco |
